Peter Nordahl’s symphonic poem Sånger ur havet has now been released, featuring Sven-Bertil Taube and the renowned Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.
This marks the fifth major album in the celebrated collaboration between legendary actor-singer Sven-Bertil Taube and innovative composer-conductor Peter Nordahl.
The lyrics, drawn from Sånger ur havet, a poetry collection by Lars Forssell (member of the Swedish Academy and long time contributor to the Nobel Prize in Literature) explore oceanic metaphors of life and death. Nordahl’s music reflects the shifting moods of the sea, capturing its emotions, its darkness and light, its grandeur and stillness.
At 87 years old, Sven-Bertil Taube delivers some of the most profound interpretations of his career, creating a legacy that will endure.
The Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra demonstrates once again why it is considered among the finest in the world.
